Frequently Asked Questions
Straight Answers, No Sales Pitch
The questions owners actually ask us, answered directly. If yours is not here, ask it on a strategy call.
Working With Us
How much does marketing cost for an appliance repair or HVAC company?
Our programs are structured as 12-month payment plans so you get the full strategy without a large upfront cost. What you pay depends on the size of your service area and how many channels you run. The programs page shows the tiers, and we will tell you on the call which one actually fits rather than selling you the biggest one.
How long before I see results?
Most clients see measurable movement within 30 days. Paid channels like Local Service Ads can produce calls in the first week. Organic rankings and map pack gains typically build over 60 to 90 days and keep compounding after that.
Do you require a long contract?
Our programs run as 12-month plans, and we back the start of that with a 30-day money-back guarantee. If you are not satisfied in the first 30 days, we refund you. We would rather earn the next month than trap you in a year of work you do not want.
Will you work with my competitor?
Market exclusivity is available in our top tier programs. It is not offered in major metro markets, where demand is large enough to support more than one company without clients competing against each other. Ask on your call and we will tell you straight what is available in your market.
What happens on the strategy call?
We ask about your business, your service area, and your goals, then look at where you currently stand online. You get an honest assessment either way. If we are not the right fit, we will say so on that call rather than waste your time.
Search and Rankings
Why is my competitor outranking me when my service is better?
Google does not measure service quality. It measures relevance, proximity, authority, and review signals. A competitor with a fully optimized Google Business Profile, recent reviews, and real location pages will outrank a better company that has none of those things. That gap is fixable.
Do I need a page for every city I serve?
If you want to rank in those cities, yes. A single service-area page rarely ranks outside your home city. The pages need genuinely useful, distinct content though. Thin copies with the city name swapped have been penalized for years.
What is the map pack and why does it matter?
The map pack is the block of three local businesses Google shows above the regular results for local searches. It captures a large share of the clicks on service searches because it appears first and includes the phone number. Getting into it is usually the fastest meaningful win available.
My Google Business Profile got suspended. Can it be fixed?
Usually yes. Reinstatement is its own process and we handle it regularly. The important part is fixing whatever triggered it, because a reinstated profile that still violates policy tends to get suspended again.
Advertising
Do you run Performance Max campaigns?
Sometimes, but never as the default. Most home service budgets belong in search, where intent is highest and you can see exactly which terms produce calls. Performance Max has a place for specific goals and larger accounts, so we use it deliberately when it fits and we tell you why before we spend a dollar on it.
What are Local Service Ads?
Local Service Ads sit at the very top of Google, above the regular search ads. You pay per lead instead of per click, and Google screens and verifies your business first, which gives you a verified badge. For home services it is generally the strongest paid placement available.
Do you charge a percentage of ad spend?
No. Percentage-of-spend pricing rewards an agency for spending more of your money. Our management fee is flat and disclosed up front, and your ad budget goes to Google, not to us.
How much should I spend on ads?
It depends on your market and how many jobs you actually want. We size the budget against your capacity and average ticket and work backward from booked jobs. Spending more than you can service is a common and expensive mistake.
AI Search
Do I need to worry about ChatGPT and AI search?
Increasingly yes. Homeowners are starting to ask AI tools who to call, and those tools cite a small number of sources. The signals that earn citations, such as schema, clear entity information, author pages, and review depth, also improve traditional rankings, so the work pays off either way.
How is AI visibility different from SEO?
Traditional SEO competes for a ranked list of links. Answer engines synthesize one response and cite a handful of sources. That rewards structured, clearly attributed, genuinely authoritative content. There is real overlap, but the emphasis differs.
